GPage
I will be relocating to Thailand next year at this time and taking early (and final) retirement. I served with the 1998 Comm Sq at Korat RTAFB in 1970-71 and went back for a two week vacation in '94. Are there any expats living in Korat that were there during my SEA days? I have been to the VFW when I was on vacation, but just to stop in and see what's what. Now, I am looking for more information on possible retirement locations and would welcome any input. I have almost decided on Phuket/Chalong area for a number of reasons, but still would consider Issan if I could find an area that wasn't populated soley by boozed-out vets. I'd like a decent lifestyle that doesn't consist of holding court with former G.I.'s and telling war stories. Is there any chance of an interesting and normal life in Issan...Korat escpecially? Thanks.
buadhai
Check out the link to the Pasinee Restaurant on this page. The VFW meets there now. There is a link to the VFW page on the restaurant page. There are a number of Vietnam War-era vets living in Korat.
