tombkk Posted July 18, 2012 Share Posted July 18, 2012 Yes, your Canadian friend needs a visa. He or she can obtain it easily at any Myanmar embassy. The embassy in Bangkok is quite popular for this. I believe what you get is a border pass which will allow you to stay within a number of kilometers from the border check-point, not a visa with which you can travel freely within Myanmar (for example to Yangon).
