News_Editor
“Titanic 3-D†will be the first Hollywood movie to get an official release in Burma in decades, according to the Los Angeles Times. The movie, owned by 20th Century Fox, will open on Aug. 17 under license to Mingalar Co., a local importer that operates eight single-screen theaters. Although the report claims that it has been “decades†since an American film has been shown in theaters in Burma, cinemas in Rangoon have been screening Hollywood films at least since the late 1990s, albeit without authorization. “Titanic 3-D†has so far grossed US $287 million—more than half of it in China.
