7 COUPLES WEDDED IN LANNA-STYLE IN CHIANG MAI

Chiang Mai province is staging Lanna-style weddings to increase tourism, as well as to portray the northern culture to the eyes of tourists.

7 couples have tied the knot in accordance with the northern tradition, at the Central Duang Tawan (ดวงตะวัน) hotel in Chiang Mai. The event, which was organized by the Chiang Mai Public Health Office, was aimed at raising awareness amongst the young generation in terms of readiness in the physical, mental, and social aspects in married life.

Participating couples had to be of 20 years of age or older, and all nationalities were welcomed. The couples also received advice and physical examination prior to their marriage.
