BURIRAM TO LAUNCH FIGHTING RINGS FOR FIGHTING ROOSTERS AFTER THE CHINESE NEW YEAR'S DAY

Buriram governor Yai Rojsuwanitkorn (ใหญ่ โรจน์สุวณิชกร) prepares to open fighting rings for fighting cocks after the Chinese New Year’s day, saying that around 27,000 chickens have been registered.

Mr. Yai said that the Buriram province registered chickens and produced their passports in last December, saying that 27,024 chickens have been registered. He said around 7,400 chicken passports have been produced, while those for around 4,000 farmers have been completed. He said that the province expects to reopen the fighting rings after the Chinese New Year’s Day or early February.

Mr. Yai said that the province will inspect fighting chickens to see whether they had undergone check-ups by district livestock officials to ensure that the fighting cocks are disease-free and all chickens must have their passports. The chickens must undergo check-ups within a month prior to the fights. He said that veterinarians will evaluate fighting rings according to Livestock Development Department’s measures, before the competitions can be allowed.
