News_Editor Posted September 17, 2012 Share Posted September 17, 2012 A one-day conference on the situation of Rohingya Muslims in Burma’s Arakan State was scheduled to take place in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on Monday, according to the New Straits Times. Former PM Mahathir Mohamad was to deliver the keynote address, with other speakers including Burmese academic Dr Maung Zarni and Palestine Solidarity Campaign Thailand chairman Stuart Ward. Maung Kyaw Nu, president of the Burmese Rohingya Association in Thailand, said the purpose of the event was “to seek justice†for Rohingyas killed in recent communal violence in western Burma.
