Canon Vrs Nikon Support And Service In Thailand

Does anyone have any experience when it all goes wrong and a warranty claim or genuine maintenance and repair is required?

I have had issues with a Canon camera and lenses. Took them to the Canon service centre in Bangkok and they were fixed promptly (2-3 days) with good communications and reasonable prices.

As a Nikon user I can only hope the service in Thailand is better than NikonUSA. I plan on buying some Nikon equipment and the OP's question is timely.

I'm pretty happy of the service of Canon Thailand, especially the the office in the main Canon office respect that at MBK 5th floor (faster, more professional, more open to communication).

I cannot say about Nikon

Canon Thailand has excellent service with very prompt turnaround times. I am a member of Canon Professional Services in Canada, but the normal consumer service in Thailand is better IMO.

I also have a Nikon P7000 and the lens protector shutter will not open and close properly. It is out of warranty.

Can anyone suggest where I can go to get it fixed, Nikon or otherwise?

Me too, I think they have re-branded to Sunny Camera since the arrival of Nikon Service Centre. I still use them for all my maintenance (I am a clumsy user) as the support is great.

I'm a Nikon fanboy, though I shoot both for work and I have to admit Canon's service is much, much better. They just get stuff done, turn around is quick, fees are reasonable.

Nikon regularly takes 10+ days to tell me they can't fix it.

Not only that, but if you prefer saving some money and leaving it in the hands of the (very very skilled) Fotofile technicians, they know more about Canon than Nikon and I have no qualms with letting them work their magic.
