If that's the place that is upstairs, I ate there a few years ago with my wife. I remember that it was a chinese/thai family that owned it, and they had the worst Vietnamese food I ever ate. My favorite Viatnamese place is 'Bon Doi' (something with 'Doi' in it, anyway), located north off Huay Kaew, just 100 meters East of the Rincome intersection. However I think the best Vietnamese is in a small, open cafe style shophouse restaurant in one of the little sois joining Chanklan and Pracha Samphan roads. (If I remember correctly, it is in the first soi coming from Si Donchai end of Pracha Samphan and is at the Pracha Samphan end of the soi. Park in the soi.) I think I can beat you on the back-soi obscurity front with this one: From Chang Phuak Gate, going North on Chang Phuak Road, take one of the first sois LEFT, before you get to the traffic lights. Then look for the (Thai only?) sign and turn RIGHT. You will find a really nice, small, cheap vietnamese place there. So much so in fact that the missus had to be restrained to not start eating that beautiful garden.
