rotorbreeze
Does anyone know of a Book on Thai law that is printed in English? I can not find answers to questions: for instance: If Thai wife dies in car accident what happens to the property we own, the children, her investments? Can anyone direct me to a book, no lawyers they all want money...I can educate myself on books. Farma
This website offers a list of Thai Law books in English. http://www.thailandlaw.com/books.html I believe the book that covers family law is The Civil & Commercial Code. Or you could contact the publisher direct at this website. http://www.nititham.com/ Edited February 15, 2006 by Farma

Perhaps you can protect your children's bequeaths with something as simple as a will.
phuketsiam
This is exactly why I won't settle in Thailand, its a great place to live if you are earning, but for foriegners so little security
jdinasia
OK ... seems to me paying a lawyer to draft a good will and protect your assetts should have been done BEFORE acquiring property etc. There are times when it just makes sense to spend a little money! Strangely ... I have not bought much here ... but my partner named ME in the will ;-) Edited February 22, 2006 by jdinasia
