villagefarang
When it floods there is nothing for it but to breakout the nets and go fishing. Making the best of a bad situation, local style.
villagefarang
Out on the trails yesterday. I always enjoy this time of year with the abundant rain, beautiful sky and everything is green and growing, including the newly planted rice fields.

Popular Post Fiddlesticks
I was getting a serious case of cabin fever as a result of all the rainy and gray days of the last couple weeks so I decided to take in the sights at Phu Sang National Park. Here are a couple images of the falls, hopefully enough to whet your appetite to see the place yourself (assuming you have not already) . If you haven't been there, it is a wonderful place to visit as well as beautiful scenery along the way.

You need something like this with a couple of strong lads to carry you. Or if that is too high tec, then something like this The second one would be OK for me....has sunshield. I liked that raise boardwalk trail because it reminded me just a little, of some of the hikes we took through the temperate rainforest in Olympia National Park in the Pacific Northwest. The Olympia trails were much nicer and better maintained but even there the trail is stepped and would not be accessible to you harrry, sorry. sceadugenga
What was the road like VF? I've been told "no money" and the work has come to a halt. I had a little peek last week and it wasn't too good past the ford/spillway.
villagefarang
What was the road like VF? I've been told "no money" and the work has come to a halt. I had a little peek last week and it wasn't too good past the ford/spillway. Some sections of the road were great and obviously very new. Other parts were not great but okay, with lots of holes. We made it as far as the little resort they advertise. There is turned into very rough and deeply rutted dirt and rock. Here is one of the better sections of ridge line road. villagefarang
Here is another shot from yesterday as we drove higher up Doi Chaang. We could see clouds and rain in every direction but we were lucky and didn’t get a drop while we were up there. What a beautiful day!
villagefarang
I was low on coffee beans so we stopped here to make a purchase and look around. We were the only tourists around yesterday.

villagefarang
Rai Boon Rawd should be on everyone's list of must see places in Chiang Rai. Here is a shot of their new roadside coffee shop and the restaurant up on the hill.

sceadugenga
Nice pics. I have to get my photos sorted out but the filing system seems to have collapsed. I need to get something like Picasa but which doesn't make a mess of online storage.
