Popular Post jharr
Riding across the Kok in the cool of the early morning. About 25km upstream from the city. In much better condition than a year ago. The second is just downstream from the bridge.

Garry
Anyone heard if the ฿20,000 burning fines are being enforced or was that yesteryears hollow crackdown? Edited December 12, 2015 by Garry

RichCor
Surprised to see you post such graphic images, VF. People shooting each other from the foxholes and trenches on the Thai/Burmese border. Though the planted flowers do brighten up the place.

villagefarang
It got cold enough for all the rubber trees to lose their leaves this year. A stark but interesting look.
Popular Post jharr
Stopped at the flood control works on the Mae Nam Kok downstream from Chiang Rai city yesterday morning. The water level behind the gates is high, about 1.5m below the top of the gates. Interested to see how long they continue to hold back the river.
Popular Post villagefarang
I think they try to keep the water level behind the sluice gates pretty constant and only open things up during the rainy season. You should go back when things are in full flow.
Popular Post villagefarang
I was out walking the dog today and couldn't see the nearest mountains because of all the smoke. I did see this little fellow posing on a wall. Not sure if that is his natural color or if the pollution is getting to him. It looks like he may have a touch of black lung disease starting there too.
sceadugenga
I saw the biggest lizard of the blue headed variety I've seen yesterday. It ran across the yard to the dogs interest but he was careful not to get too close.
