One great area to see migrating birds is Thali Noi Lake in northern Songkhla, especially in January .... but I am sure there are other areas in Thailand... Seems these are popular around Chiang Mai due to the sound they make. Personally I find them just noisy. Not happy about seeing them caught like this though, that is a capture cage.
