Mosha
We have 2 by the house, I trim one up at Christmas when the weather behaves itself. I read they can reach over 120'. but how big will they grow in Thailand? The biggest we have is about 25'
xen
Norfolk Island pies will grow to 40 metres or 120 feet ( I had to do some conversions back to feet ) in ideal conditions but will take quite a few years . Some of the Araucaria like the Bunya Pine will grow even larger both in height and width. I think the more important issue is how close they are to buildings or other trees as they do have a wonderful shape if left to develop and need to be viewed from a distance to appreciate the shape. I used to use one as a Christmas tree too but after a few years it was too big to bring inside. After a few years the initial growth spurts tend to slow down but usually after it is too big to use as a Christmas tree. That is why so many get planted in inappropriate places in public parks which then have to be removed.
Mosha
Thanks Zen, we trimmed the larger one up the previous Christmas, but the weather would not co-operate. So we stuck with the artificial tree 2012. Edited January 12, 2013 by Mosha
