News_Editor Posted February 1, 2013 Share Posted February 1, 2013 Burma’s Air KBZ was handed the first of two 68-seat ATR 72-600s airplanes in Toulouse, France on Wednesday, French-Italian aircraft manufacturer ATR said. The second plane will be delivered in June. Air KBZ also operates four ATR 72-500s in Burma. Financing for the transaction of the aircraft was provided by Danish finance and leasing company Nordic Aviation Capital. “The acquisition of these two new aircraft […] is integral to our network expansion from our regional hubs,†Air KBZ deputy managing director Khin Maing Myint said in a press release. Air KBZ is one five Burmese airlines flying domestic routes. It is owned by Kanbawza Bank Chairman Aung Ko Win, a crony of Burma’s former military regime.
