asiaexpat
This is a US wartime propaganda film that could not even get geography correct. The bridge stated to be the famous Bridge Over The River Kwai is actually the train bridge over the river and was built many years after the famous bridge. I spent three years in Issan during this time working with the locals and only twice did I encounter communist insurgents. The economy was growing due to USA military funding and economic support (traded for military access to all of Thailand.)
