loserlazer
Honda style cheap and reasonable series. The article states like made in Thailand. Is that true? Hope to see these kind of variants made in Thailand with 670 cc honda engine or at least with 470 cc engine. If they make this in Thailand, i can buy one like many probably the fairing one. Honda Nice style headlamps looks funny though:lol: http://www.motorcycle.com/manufacturer/honda/2014-honda-ctx700-first-look-91515.html

nikster
Finally, a successor to the esteemed Honda Phantom... made in Thailand is interesting though I guess that should keep the price down. dave_boo
That's a low seat height. I took the liberty of overlaying the NC700X so people would have a visual idea of the bike. **edit** As an aside; the NC700X cost a princely 463 000 baht. BSJ
I don't think I have mentioned it before.....but it looks like a pig dog! Only a mother could luv it. Mrs Honda was visually impaired.

loserlazer
Yeah it looks ugly especially the naked one, i agree. Will they make them in Thailand? Anyone has an idea? If yes, we can see the around 300 k at honda bigwing. Or maybe a 500 cc version of it? I think honda will make many bikes with 470 and 670 cc engines. I was thinking Honda was going to release a "Phantom" based on the CBR 250 engine. Hasn't happened yet. Would be a perfect starter cruiser. Can't see them stuffing a 500 engine in a frame designed for the NCX engine.

CTX and NC700X comparison.jpg **edit** As an aside; the NC700X cost a princely 463 000 baht. $6999 in the US, and $15500 in Thailand...where it's being produced. Briggsy
I believe there may be more info at the motor show on at the moment such as a release date and a price. I am very interested but I only bought a CB 500X 3 months ago! What do I do now? Wait is the answer.

Wait is the answer. briggsy, you can go buy one and get it fast. it is 349 k for normal version and 406 k with dual clutch auto tranny and ABS. good deal for the bike also it looks much more better in metal! sat on it and fells very comfy. good choice for an effortless and comfy bike in Thailand.
Briggsy
Wouldn't that just be placing an order? With bike to come some time next year? or are they actually putting them out of the door already?

Briggsy
I would be kind of embarrassed. I just bought a CB 500 X off them! Anyway, I might pop in and ask. I would wager we won't see these bikes in the showrooms for another 4 months at least. I'm off to have another look at the pics, specs and options on the website. Briggsy
Looking at youtube, there are at least 2 versions available on the American market, one with Honda Dual Transmission Control, basically an automatic than can be overridden by up and down shift controls on the left handlebar and the other is a manual transmission model. They are both made in Japan. The cheaper manual version is $7,000, which appears massively cheaper than the Thai recommended retail price.

ll2
^ not only one but only for some angles i think, dual clutch auto tranny version is a really good choice. ride hours without touching the clutch, yep boring but comfy. i tried that double clutch tranny and it is surprisingly smooth, smoother than a scooter actually and find gears nicely. dave_boo
Plenty of room on the left handlebar of the DCT model to mount one of these:
