It was not definitely what I expected and looking for. So where are the dissolute places in Chiang Mai? Loi Kroh road and PornPing, what else? I posted a similar question myself on Thaivisa about the area I'm currently in, and the replies were stunningly helpful, the best one from a forum mod no less! So anyway, for truly attractive girls you of course need to look no further than building contacts online; Facebook is an obvious place to start, especially with the new 'Meat Search' function. (They officially call it 'Graph Search', but the real purpose is of course clear. What else could they have been thinking when building a function that supports you typing: "Women in Chiang Mai under 30 years in a complicated relationship who like drinking". Yes, that's a supported search. ) But if in a nightlife scenario then the popular local pubs are good; many in the Nimmanhaemin area. While I (personally) find those a bit poseur-ish, it's still a reasonable place later at night when everyone is sufficiently tanked up. Pubs in other places may be more to your likeing though; they're all over the place, for example the JJ Market area, Santitham, and other areas. However where I would start (reading between the lines, taking in the Patters reference) I would say: the Reggae area (Ratwithee road, on the first traffic light intersection when coming from the moat). Specifically Zoe in Yellow pub. It gets going a bit later at night, say 11pm onwards and weekends are better. Zoe has places on either side of that small soi, one side being a dance area that (may) get going later at night. There's really a good mix of young Farangs, local Thais of various backgrounds (some regular middle class but looking for a change of vibe from Nimman), some 'desperate housewives' (and I mean that in the best possible way), and then later on also freelancer girls and bar staff, when Loy Kroh bars start closing. After Zoe closes (closing time seems to vary) there is Spicy on Chang Moi Road. It has an upstairs disco, which is a complete zoo and by far the best fire-trap money can buy. But still a reasonable option for those desperate to continue the party. Another honourable mention in the zoo-category, and continuing almost to dawn is Lucky Club, in a small soi off Kotchasarn Road just before Loy Kroh. The more traditional tourist / sexpat bars on Loy Kroh (both the moat end and near the boxing ring close to Kamphaeng Din) have the occasional gem, but overall it's more suited to warming up a little than to really find amazing talent. As for Gogo bars I haven't been in one (other than a quick status-confirming peek) in years. Not really worth your time. For a lighlty younger crowd, the Monkey club will also cause severe salivating. but now the downside, depsite your probable misconception that you are handsome man and can have what you want...WRONG. If you are not hot, and young enough yourself with the pre requisite cash to flash, you may aswell whistle and get back down into seedy road. the hot stuff here is not interested in farang, they want young, hot, nice car to drive around in, and a sexy guy to "support" their desired lifestyle. and....in my opinion this is exactly why you only see the sexiest looking girls on the arms of a farang when they have clearly been "hired" for the day,...we come here thinking we can have the choice of the sexiest, but look around, when did you last see a farang who was married to anything near what we would call an attractive sexy wife. .......but for some of us lucky enough to have a hot girl, the stigma of that "how much is he paying for her" is not easy to ignore. 6 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
