sn0ttycow
Hi, I am a freelance (self employed) designer working in the field of interiors in India. I have been contemplating a short term move (possibly a year or so) to explore work options and the possibility of creative growth in Bangkok. I was wondering if anyone knows how I can get a work permit and visa etc, legally as a freelancer without a company having to hire me. I'd greatly appreciate any advice or information in this regard. Thanks, Miriam
rishi
You can't even apply for a workpermit without various documents from a company, wanting to hire you.
astral
As you want " to explore work options and the possibility of creative growth in Bangkok." I suggest you apply for a double entry tourist visa. This will allow you to stay for about 6 months, taking advantage of an extension on each entry. If you do get a job you can convert the visa to Non-Immigrant B later. Provided you keep a low key and do not do any formal work while you are a tourist, you will not have any problems.
