Yes, seems to be island wide. Does anyone know how the island is divided to different electricity zones?

I can see Koh Naka in front of my home, at least they have electricity there, but it might come from the generators.

Just heard reports that power plant in Khanom (NST) has an explosion, but at the same time rumours that something did boom in Songkhla and Trang as well!!! Weird stuff.

Either domino effect of one plant failing, organised attack, or CME hitting earth?

Might sound crazy - but, could another military coup be happening????

If it was they would not black out the people who who cheer for it. They'd black out Issan.

Ahhhhh, tourism - foreigners panicing - heading for the airport - ringing their embassy etc etc etc etc.

That said, we haven't got a post from anyone in Issan yet.

Massive power cut hits Phuket and entire South
Tanyaluk Sakoot

PHUKET: -- A massive blackout apparently originating from a fault at the hydropower station at the Rachaphraha dam in Surat Thani blacked out Phuket tonight, along with all provinces to the south.

The blackout started at about 7pm. At 7:50 limited power became available, but it is not clear when full power will be restored.

Phuket International Airport is operating as normal.

Updates when we get them.
