balo
I wonder if the old man from Belgiium was blind ? When you can find thousands of pretty girls in Pattaya and he choose her?
slipperylobster
Why does a 78 year old Need a 37 year old Lady? That is asking for Trouble due to the fact that such relationship is very unnatural, or would any of you guys here who are 37-45 sleep with a 78 year old lady? ...........Not me! But if she was less than 60 and paid me enough to go bar hopping in Pattaya I would let her pay for my bad habits. Fair enough. I might even give her some happy endings, as long as she did not stop me from getting my thrills. Surely if she had a decent car that was paid up, I might go higher than 60.... Young gals just got nothing to offer.

lostmebike
Too many people think that just because a man is 30 or even 40 years older than his young Thai honey that the relationship is all about money. I have one of these relationships and off course money plays a part but is there anyone out there that can say it doesn't play a part in any relationship anywhere? If the old guy is healthy and in good shape the young Thai hottie is still most likely better off with her "old" man than with a Thai man/boy. Some of these couples actually love each other despite the age difference. So lay off the "old" guys. Although I am not in this guy's age I will be in 20 years and my Thai tail will be in her mid 40's by then, assuming of course I even remember her by then 'My Thai tail' Love is so sweet

dighambara
Why was the Belgian guy in Pattaya? If he had holiday in Europe nothing had happened. It's almost illegal to publish such stories and let shine out that Thailand would be a dangerous country. Printing such stories brings the good ties between Thailand and Belgium in danger. 555555555555555 RIP the Belgian guy Nirun condos...keeping it classy. Many Thais brag about their hot temper and here you see the results. Something must be done. Not all incidences are reported in the media. Poor old dude. Unfortunately, wisdom does not always accompany age. (Add "slight chance of knife in rib cage" to Viagra's known side effects?) Unclassy comments by people pretending to be superior to others. Markaew
I wonder if Thailand's statistics are comparable with the USA? On average, more than three women and one man are murdered by their intimate partners in this country (USA) every day. In 2000, 1,247 women were killed by an intimate partner. The same year, 440 men were killed by an intimate partner. Intimate partner homicides accounted for 30% of the murders of women and 5% percent of the murders of men. (Bureau of Justice Statistics Crime Data Brief, Intimate Partner Violence, 1993-2001, February 2003. Bureau of Justice Statistics, Intimate Partner Violence in the U.S. 1993-2004, 2006.) That came out of left field. How did you make that correlation? This is Thailand.

rbrooks
Many Thais brag about their hot temper and here you see the results. Something must be done. Not all incidences are reported in the media. They are quite brave in their own country, get them out of the country, eliminate the alcohol and you have a normal person not willing to risk too many acts of stupidity and bravado unless you are a Thai diplomat of course. khaowong1
Looking at that vacant face, it is easy to see that there aren't too many neurons firing in that brain. She will get off with a warning. You have to have a few neurons missing to stab someone to death. Shooting someone is easy, stabbing someone is not. You have to be really pissed off, or have a neuron or two missing. stephen terry
How sad. I 'knew' both - they were living in the same condo as me. It isn't a classy place, but generally speaking, there is a harmonic community spirit among the long-termers and Thais. I would not want to say anything bad about either, but a killing - whatever the provocation and desperation - cannot be justified. While the man's life cannot be resurrected - RIP - I hope the lady can find some forgiveness - she was as much a victim of her environment as him...

I would not be surprised....but then again, the Population of the United States is how many times larger than Thailand.. More of everything happens .. I suppose. It would be more interesting to view those statistics in the same context as the original story. How many 78 year old Married Men in the United States get killed by their 38 year old girlfriend? I would think very few in contrast to ..for example...Pattaya and Phuket alone. Now that would be more accurate information. Obviously age and cultural differences came into play here. Old, lonely men shacking up with weird, younger gals....happens more here than the USA!!! - Here is a fun statistic: Did you know that most drowning accidents happen in and around boats? -Sheldon Cooper Yes, they drown when they are drunk and try to take piss in the water and fall in it
