I cannot understand why a 78 year old should feel upset because his much younger lady wants a bit of the other from time to time. At his age it is surely beyond the bounds of possibility that he could provide it. Why should she dip out? Wouldn't she be more amenable to him if she was getting her ration? What possible benefit accrues to him by insisting that she goes without?

Quite a few years ago I would sit in a small bar in one of the Jomtien sois, 7,8 or 9, I can't remember which, and every 10 minutes or so a sweet young thing would come tripping down the soi , select a stud from a bevy of them, all wearing pristine white singlets, sitting outside a bar opposite , and enter the bar with him in tow. There was a dance floor at the back of the place and there may have been rooms upstairs. The young girls had tucked their old fellow up in bed for the night, fed him his Horlicks (and a Viagra pill to prevent him rolling out of bed) and was out getting her jollies. Whether the old fellow knew and condoned it, or was left in the dark, I don't know. It seemed to me to be a reasonable arrangement where everybody ended up winnning. The old fellow was looked after and had his trophy GF to show off, the girl gained a decent lifestyle, no more worrying about the rent or where the next meal was coming from and maybe a few thousand baht when he popped off, and the stud was earning a few shekels. The girl would be back at home when the old fellow woke up, ready to make with the fruit juiice and coffee. Nobody getting hurt or upset. Eminently sensible IMO.

If you think as 78 year old that a 37 old Lady will love ,than you are fooling yourself, this is only for the Money,as they know some ladies do anything for cash, I am a Belgian myself but in this case I don´t feel sorry for him, altrough stupid behaviour shouldn´t be ended with death, that is clear.

The justice system here being what it is, I cannot see her doing much jail time, especially if this Belgian does not have any family to chase this up.

I sometimes think the local police stations have huge carpets that they sweep this sort of problem under.

The homicide rate for Thailand for 1995-2011 was the same as for the USA at 4.8 per 100,000. Thailand is a black spot for homicides compared to almost the whole of Asia. It stands out like a sore thumb. See Wikipedia:

Since I guess the homicide rates in Thailand are the highest in Bangkok and Pattaya, you don't need further stats specific for that city - it stares u in the face that the rate must be higher than the USA as a whole.

Well, it does appear Indonesia, the Philippines, and Myanmar (highest in SE Asia) are far higher. But, Thailand is tied with Laos, and about even with Laos. Vietnam is far lower, but who on earth trusts their government? About as honorable as the Chinese govt. swine. Honduras and El Salvador at 91.6 and 69.2 are the highest, and nearly every country in Latin America is 2-10 times higher than Thailand. So, Thailand is still relatively safe. Just do not cross swords with a hothead, nor any Thai if you can help it.

It's just the world we live in, moreover sadly, too many of the people in it!! Never heard of a 'crime of passion'??? Only thing is it's generally assumed to be the 'accuser' who's likely to lose control and do the dirty deed, but to think such a thing could only happen in Thailand is ridiculously dumb.. just read the papers (or even look here on TV more!).. so, no its not even ALMOST illegal for such stories to be published either!.. doh!!! ... what a cosy, blinkered world you must wander around in, when in Europe anyway!!... Yeah. I found it by chance when Googling (ghouling?) for a specific ... errr .. departure. It was identified as 'Farang Exits' (website title/identifier?). A handy, albiet ghoulish, reference, but I'm pretty sure it's not comprehensive.

i heard similar stories from friends that never made it to the news. i think foreigners should take extra precautions in dealing with thai girls. most of them are unable to communicate their emotions well so they resort to something like this.

Funny you should say this but many many moons ago before i was married to my wife i had a relationship in Britain with a thai girl and one day she accused me of sleeping with someone else ,i hadnt as it happened but i made the mistake of laughing it off ,it was just the fact that i got to the bathroom and slammed the door that saved me from a similar fate . beware with Thai ladies ,they can have a vicious temper when roused .
