Potential Holiday Destinations

Hi, this may sound like a bit of a general question but I have been considering going to Thailand for holiday in June but am unsure as to which locations would be best for a group aged around 25.

I've been searching online for weather chatrs and destination guides but am a bit confused as to the rainey seasons etc. Ideally we would like an area which is hot around june (is this the rainey season north/south?) with nice beaches but also good nightlife and food to keep us occupied. Any suggestions will be appreciated!!

Thanks :o

Yes it is rainy season in June/July........sometimes the raisn start early June sometimes later, but basically should be just starting. In the South of Thailand there are two 'seasons' meaning that one side of the peninsula will get good conditions while the other less favourable conditions.

Generally in June it is right at the cut off point fopr the change in the weather, fo rexample usually from November to say June, the Phuket side will get more favourable condions while the Samui side is best between June and November.

It will alwyas be warm if not hot all year round in both locations but in Phuket you get a lot of wind during it's off season, which brings biggish swells in from the Andaman Sea.......quite surprising actually. Many people go surfing down there in August/Sept. and many beaches are dangerous and closed with no surf patrols.

Keep in mind that it depends what you want to do. If you want nice beach conditions - smooth clear waters etc then it is best to go with the weather. If it does not matter about the beach/water conditions then you can go wherever you want......ie if you go to Samui during say March April, then the weather wont be as good as Phuket but you might find some good deals on hotels etc and less crowds.

Both Phuket and Samui have many bars and restaurants in which to soak your brain in suds and you will find many friends in both locations.
