PATTAYA: -- For the second time in a month a senior Police Officer has declared that Pattaya is “Mafia-free” and Thai and Foreign Tourists should feel assured that the city is safe and the chances of them becoming the victim of crime are very slim.

The declaration was made by Police General Wutti, Senior Adviser to the National Police Commissioner, who presided over a press conference in the grounds of Pattaya Police Station on Saturday. Two crime prevention operations running from 1st to 31st August are currently underway and involve many Police Divisions who presented their results of the crackdowns so-far to the General.

As of Saturday, officers had solved 1,024 cases and made 1,056 arrests. Seizures of illegal items include 102,495 Yabba Tablets, 1,100kgs of Crystal Methamphetamine, 1kg of Marijuana, 47 guns and a selection of pornographic materials and sex toys along with sex enhancement medication and copyright branded clothes and other items.

I wonder how much the Mafia paid him to announce that.

Anyway I'm sorry to hear that the streets have been cleared of sexual enhancement medication. There's going to be a lot of frustrated young teeraks waiting for Harold to get Percival fired up.

Either that or raucous celebrations behind the scenes as they don't need to service the old boys but they're still getting paid. Maybe it was a contingent of teeraks that persuaded the police to remove the enhancement drugs. ?

Those Thai girls can be very cunning you know. smile.png

They thought they were being cunning but the crackdowns have been a bit too thorough. Now they can't get the toys either.

And the Police who stopped a friend of mine, walking down Theppasit Rd, took him for a drug test - he was negative but he noticed them trying to change the urine samples - to make as if he was tested positive - my friend is Thai... so basically they even try and trick their own people.

A selection of fake t-shirts and a few sex toys. The streets are safe.

You better believe it as you have it on good authority.
A General said it and it's on the news. Must be fact.

All the arrests and seizures took place in less than a month. Assuming it took one week to get the statistics on paper and August is not over yet. That makes Pattaya a pretty active crime spot.

However, no rocket science necessary to find the amount of drugs and weapons seized is just the tip of the iceberg. To everyone who knows, who is and will take care of the drug and arms trade the statement:

“Thai and Foreign Tourists should feel assured that the city is safe and the chances of them becoming the victim of crime are very slim” is a pretty brazen lie and not even a good one. This comes from a high ranking cop, not from notorious liars as bankers and politicians.

In corporate life the guy would have no chance to keep the job, after making such an incredible statement to the press.
