Some choose their life partners and where to live wisely, others establish a miserable life for themselves and seek to blame those around them for their own poor judgement.

I also had a bar in pattaya,,,spent fortunes on the good life ,,,,,I am now in a small village by Roiet with my 2 kids and lovely wife,,,mother and father have moved into our lovely new home we built,,,my brother and sister have just spent a month here,

4 motorbikes to explore with,,only electric and water bills to worry about,,,dirt cheep to live,,,

bliss. Goodbye Liverpool

Sorry to ask, but where does your money come from? Do you do any business in Roi-et?

And are you supporting the whole family (including in-laws) financially?

Nobody forces you to live in Thailand. If you don't like it, you are free to move on (or move back to your home country).

And if beetle nut chewing elders spit on your feet, I am sure you have not integrated and they just express their feelings about you. Why are you in Thailand?

Which village was that?

If that is your experience of village life you have either been very unlucky, or incredibly unlucky.

My beautiful wife is from Sisaket, and I used to love heading up there to spend time with her family. Since I have written her into my will as my sole beneficiary, I refuse to go up there anymore, and will only meet the in-laws in places like Starbucks and McDonalds in populated cities such as Chiang Mai, Pattaya, and Bangkok. Funny what a little piece of paper can do.

Interesting post any particular reason for the 180 degree turn about.

Looks like he thinks the family are going to bump him off for his money, as his wife is sole beneficiary in his will.

Some people do make me laugh.

Happens occasionally, the man is just being sensible.

Except for your assertion made in 10, your points could be equally true in Bangkok, Pataya or Phuket.

Village life seems to be a dull life and also probably dangerous.

No thanks.

Seriously! you really think that the Village is more dangerous than Bangkok or Pataya, consider all those balconies.

It can be dangerous wherever you choose to go .

But I think it is easier to get robbed or even murdered in a village , everyone knows who the farang is and where he lives.

I feel safe in my condo with 24h security and surveiilance cameras,

Been away for a year now, coming back to nong Han in 6 weeks. What's changed? Haha. Pmsl. An eye opener coming for my mate who's coming for the first time, ahh, village life.

Interesting, I am planning the same with my best mate. How long will he be in for, Ozybear?

Haha, the squat toilet was the first thing to go. I totally agree, it is what you make of it where ever you are, but it does help a huge amount with this forum to find what one needs to be more comfortable for the lifestyle you choose. Thanks participants and thanks thaivisa.

Or .. i also had a bar in Pattaya , it failed miserably and i lost a fortune. I licked my wounds and hightailed it to Issan with the brass. Mother n Father have just moved into the wifes house ... lol... I can explore many rice fields on a motorbike. It's great and dirt cheap ... wish i could see the Liver Birds.
