Larry
If you need glasses, I can tell you that Tokyo Opticians, the biggest chain in CM, has just opened a big new store on Loy Kroh near the corner of Kampangdin Road, across from the new hotel facade they are building. I have had great experiences getting glasses there for my whole family. Their service is first class. Ask for Dee (the tall girl who speaks very good English). They even have VAT for tourists. chanchao
Right, I don't think you can go wrong with Tokyo.. another big branch is at Airport Plaza. I was VERY impressed myself with the optician on Ratwithee road, before you get to the Irish Pub on the right when coming from the city moat. Really stellar high-tech computerised equipment, and they guy speaks excellent English too. My mum had glasses done there. He took like half an hour at least for the examination tests. Not as cheap as the cheapest market-side optician shops, but I really think you'd be impressed.
Danthai
Approximate cost for bi-focal. Can they use drops and look into eyes or just test for glasses? Edited April 8, 2019 by Danthai
