2 against one drunk guy ... typical here .... Well man , next time dont stay on the beach at 4.30am and drunk .....

Good advice to everyone, everywhere.

It would be a shame if the muggings and street robberies found in more developed countries would start to be a regular occurance in Pattaya, but it is probably inevitable. Common sense is required.

4.30 am, that means he has to wait 12 hours before the tourist court opens before he can report it. What do tourists do to feel safe and prevent this between the hours of 8.30 pm and 4.30 pm. The court was established so that tourists could feel safe and enjoy their holiday. Guess this guy was lured into a false sense of security.

Tourist Court was set up to mainly handle low level scams and disputes for quick resolution. Criminal matters such as robbery with violence should be reported to the Tourist Police/RTP and sentencing would be dealt with by the Provincial Court in Jomtien

At the end of the day , no matter where you are , to be sitting around in an inebriated state at 4.30 am on a Beach alone you are a Victim waiting for the opportunist.

Common sense seems to get left at the Immigration counter on arrival with many .

An observation

Ooops. ....................Sorry Rim the 'Point' standard is getting better

Would anyone go on Pattaya beach or any other tourist beach area at 4.30am and drunk too.

In a nice world my answer would be an idylic yes,but are we living in a nice world, forget Pattaya, just think of how many countries one would be safe in.

I know plenty of beaches where you can sit safely at any time of the day or night. If you and others on this thread continue to blame the victims, you're effectively arguing for the right to a higher crime rate and lazy, corrupt law enforcement. If you do that often enough, you'll get what you asked for.

The beginning and the end of the argument is that it is NOT acceptable for anyone to harm someone for commercial gain wherever and whenever it happens.

Shame on those who apologise for criminals.

Somtampet is not apologizing for criminals. All comments except yours are along the lines of "USE YOUR COMMON SENSE". If you choose not to that's fine but don't complain afterwards,

Wow...I thought Norwegians were tall blonde viking looking chaps....

in case you did not know, in the USA, there are not only white people, but black people, asian people, native indians, etc.

Example of other Western countries with not only white people are:

France

Germany

Holland

England

Sweden

Norway

and the list goes on and on...

You sir, have A LOT to learn...

Of course the two criminals are 100% to blame for this incident but everyone needs to have a little common sense and not leave yourself vulnerable to crooks like this in any country. Go get drunk that's fine, but go with friends. Pattaya is a great place to holiday or live if you just think about the consequences of your own actions.

It's not a great place to holiday if the tourists have to be subjected to this crap, and the crappy apathy and ineptness that follows in sequence of being beaten and robbed.

It's not as if the nice man were in a dark alley chugging from a brown paper bag.

What are you talking about? Street crime has been going on in Pattaya for years and years and years. Don't you read?

Yes, muggers in "civilised" countries use the Marquess of Queensberry's rulesthumbsup.gif

I want to live in the country that you are from. Wow, when you are mugged at 4:30am, by 5:00am you are in a Tourist Court getting relief? Please tell me where this glorious land that your refer to is.
