HUA HIN: -- Webster University Thailand (WUT) has been awarded the prestigious Prime Minister’s Business Enterprise for 2013 in a ceremony on September 25th. Webster University Thailand is the only University among the 23 firms in 8 categories selected for the award this year.

The Prime Minister’s Award was established in 1992 by the Thai Ministry of Industry and recognizes exceptional Thai enterprises, particularly those that compete in the global marketplace. With this award, Webster University Thailand joins a very exclusive club of business institutions in Thailand.

WUT attracts students from more than 60 countries with 85% of the student body coming from overseas. Students are attracted to the internationally recognized programs and the diverse student body is complimented with faculty members from over 25 countries.

“I am delighted that our effort in promoting Thailand as an education destination and our quest for excellence has been recognized by the Thai Government“said Rector Ratish Thakur.

“Webster University is honored to receive a Prime Minister’s Award, the highest government recognition for excellence in service in Thailand,” said Elizabeth “Beth” J. Stroble, President of Webster University. “As we advance a mission to provide learning experiences that transform students for individual excellence and global citizenship, we are proud to welcome a globally diverse community of faculty, staff, and students to Webster Thailand. This recognition affirms the importance of our university’s vision and mission, and for that we are grateful.”

Recognition and awards are nothing new for WUT, earlier this year the University was a recipient of the Thailand Trust Mark, an award that recognizes the American University as a leader in the educational institutions in Thailand both locally and internationally.

WUT is evaluated as “excellent” by The Office of National Education Standards and Quality Assessment (ONESQA).
