2 Frangs Marrying - both to MFA ?

We are both foreigners (British and Australian) but plan to get married in Thailand. It would be more convenient for us to go to Bangkok separately to get the permission to marry from the embassy and translation. If we do that is it possible for just one of us to go to the MFA to arrange legalization or would we both need to go in person.

Looking at the forum it seems that it would not need both but would like to confirm as in most cases one of the parties is a Thai and that may be different.

Thanks.

Not sure if both need to go. There is the option of applying by mail, which suggests that you do not need to go both. But think it will be required to both sign the form.

The required form can be found here: (I would also include a signed copy of ID-card/passport.

Of course the translation agency will over to go to the MFA for you.

Email them and ask for the form and power of attoney.

If one of you goes, you do not have to wait. For 65 baht they will send it to your location by EMS. Takes about 5 days to recieve. But price is 400 baht instead of the 800 baht for express service (and for express you must apply before noon and hope the daily limit has not been reached yet).

Or maybe send a messenger with the documents as well as the two signed power of attorney by the future spouses

The papers can be sent back by mail as stated above
