Protesters agree to leave Foreign Ministry Tuesday
The Nation

BANGKOK: -- The anti-government protesters who occupied a space in Foreign Ministry's compound on Si Ayutthaya Road since last night agreed on Tuesday to move out following a meeting between protest leader and the ministry's senior officials.

The protesters were seen packing their belongings but their next destination is unknown.

The move followed a meeting between senior ministry officials and protest leader Nithithorn Lamleua. Some 300 protesters entered the compound last night with unclear demand, only demanding the ministry to stop operation.

The ministry instructed the officials to work out outside since last night.

I would let them pack their things... and escort them to the closest prison whistling.gif

If this is the "educated middle class" of Bangkok, seizing government offices, promoting the mob rule and supporting the toppling of democracy... They better be sent away for a while.

Intruding a government building is a crime. Let's have the court summons their appearances after everything is calm.

Absolutely - blatant criminal trespass IMHO

Really?....

I thought the Finance Ministry was a public building? So I doubt trespass is totally valid. Especially as the occupancy was peaceful. It's not exactly like the red shirts would have done it though. They would be leaving the building in flames.

LOL!

Funny how some see red when the culprits are never charged, let alone convicted [Curbside Fashion Statement: Black is the new Red]...more violence than the utterly naive, corporate shills, this list, will admit has been caused -- around the world and throughout history -- by agent provocateurs who, even when caught, rarely announce the motives nor their paymasters, . ;-} rap. giggle.gif

Criminal? Oh yes, and punishable by gunshot to the head no doubt.

Ridiculous.

That's the forte of the AV and Suthep...............

Remember ???

If there is any criminal activity coming out of this, it is the Yingluck goons (probably Thaksin) who have extended the ISA to cover all BKK and it environs in a bid to block the people's constitutional right to peaceful protest.

More crime against the constitution and the people's rights.

A lot more damning than a peaceful sit in at a public building if you ask me.

Sure, the public can enter (parts of the) ministries during the day, but even public buildings have opening hours. Try to stay when after 5 pm (or whatever) - that's trespassing.

Entered during opening hours and stayed only in public designated areas so you can't get done for trespass if already there lawfully even if you decide not to leave. Other laws will apply though.

Indeed, i would think that pressing charges against this lot for trespass which might mean sitting on the grass hardly merits it. However, what were those pictures of people sitting in some meeting chambers?

Unlawful entry at best unless the chambers were broken into to gain entry. Now that would be a serious crime.

Merit or not you can't be done for trespass if you were at some point lawfully able to enter. Trespass is the crime of 'passing into' a restricted (in this case) area but if someone is already there when the rules change they have not 'passed into'.

In the outside grounds it would be considered 'maybe' something like unlawful occupation which I doubt would carry more than a 100 Baht fine. So long as they keep it peaceful and don't resist arrest then no big deal.
