BANGKOK: -- The United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship will stage a mass rally on Saturday to pass a judgement on anti-government protest leader Suthep Thuagsuban, said UDD chairwoman Thida Thavornseth on Wednesday.

In a prepared statement announced to the red-shirt followers at Rajamangala stadium in Hua Mark, Mrs Thida accused Suthep of committing a serious crime for ordering the seizure of government offices across the country which has caused widespread chaos among the officials.

Because of Suthep’s action, she said that the UDD would change its slogan from “Coup by the Constitution Court” to “Stop Hijacking Thailand”.

She also urged the protesters to stop harassing local and foreign media.

Jatuporn Promphan, another red-shirt leader, said that it was necessary for the red-shirt followers to be on the full alert to counter the anti-government protesters.

He said that the red shirts would stop their rally only when the protesters end their protests.

Where do they find the time to converge and waste their time on all those frivolous

meetings? isn't rice harvest time now? and yes, I know that every red shirt at least

get 2,000 to come to Bkk, ( I got it on good authority) but still....

Rice harvest is mainly over by now. Will be interesting to see if those red masses will show up this time. Perhaps they can fill the national stadium now? But only if the missunderstood fugitive pulls out some money again.

Saturday, If the anti-govt protesters are within 10 miles of these crazies, the head cracking will begin. Thai on Thai violence. All Farang's, including Journalists/Photopgraphers should take head and stay away.

Because its better than the centuries of being forgotten about and repressed.

I expect many 'red shirts' are not personally keen on TS, but the thought of voting for the oldest party in Thailand who has over the years completely disregarded them is so sickening that they continue to support the PTP.

I hate the conflict now, and find it difficult to see a proper resolution, but its lovely to see these old families in Thailand who have barely lifted a finger in their lives, other than to call the hired help, get a right royal shafting:) Sadly i know they have already siphoned off 100's of million of dollars over the years out of the country and really whatever is happening here is just a minor inconvenience that they can sit out abroad.

The rice scam has cost the country hundreds of billions, but only in baht terms. Using a rough B30 to the dollar conversion rate, that would still make Thaksin more than 30 times worse, and he managed that in a 2 year period. Are your loyalties a little confused?

Guess 2,000 baht is more than the Bank saying they have no money to pay Rice Farmers.
