Protesters black out National Police Office

police-office-wpcf_728x413.jpg

BANGKOK: -- Anti-Thaksin regime demonstrators late this afternoon besieged the National Police Office and demanded all the police working inside to leave the office by 6 p.m. today.

Protesters threatened to black out the office if the police did not meet their demand.

But by 2.30 p.m. the police inside the office have reported of electricity black-lout and they were trying to find out whether it was the work of the protesters or just a normal electrical short-circuit.

However the General Police Hospitals which is also inside the complex of the National Police Office was not affected. Doctors reported normal operation of the hospital.

Several hundreds of demonstrators are still gathering in front of the National Police Office, awaiting the police to leave their complex.

No electricity, eh? Maybe they should switch to emergency electricity - tasers.

No use of force then probably no law enforcement.

I don't have a dog in this fight, but it strikes me as a little strange that the sister of deposed Thaksin was even considered for public office.

''It was unclear how police would respond to the provocative move. But so far they have avoided confrontation with the demonstrators, and the government appears reluctant to call on soldiers to strengthen security.''

Well, they could always check the procedure followed in my country in such circumstances......

And requisition all the ambulances and doctors nearby....whistling.gif

Actually, if we think about it, what's being admitted is a sorry state with police security being vulnerable to compromising from Fred and Wilma, Barney, Betty, Bam Bam and Pebbles, but we shouldn't really expect anything beyond the dark ages though, or should we? intheclub.gif.pagespeed.ce.TVIbELwsxN.gi

Let me see if I've got this right. One group ( a minority) closes the international airport and occupies Government House for weeks - nobody goes to jail

The other group rallies in the streets and people get killed - and several of the targets are tried and jailed.

Now, just imagine a disaffected political group in the U.S. taking over the halls of Congress and closing Los Angeles Airport (LAX). Well, we all know that answer to that one don't we?

You cannot compare the two.

You should not compare the two.

Protesters cut electricity at Police HQ, patients at Police General Hospital affected; Police chief bars protesters entering premises /MCOT

The demonstrators tried to get in the hospital?

Try reading the smaller writing beyond the headline.

"But just hours later the demonstrators cut off the electricity supply to the national police headquarters in Bangkok, a senior officer said.

"Now we are running on a generator," Police Lieutenant General Prawut Thavornsiri told AFP, as about 1,000 protesters gathered outside.

The move also hit the forensic department of a hospital next door although the main facility was unaffected, the hospital director said."

Headlines rarely relate to the facts unless the "patients" were in to mortuary.

Its already been confirmed by the hospital director that power to the main hospital was not cut - a forensic lab had its power cut and is running on generators - but not the main hospital. They also have generators ready. A policeman was slightly hurt, cut forehead; looks like he cut his head on the razor wire while trying to deflect the cutting of the cables - not details on that yet other than pictures of his cut eyebrow.

He cut himself on their own razor wire? So not at all the demonstrators fault, right?

So, if he was trying to prevent demonstrators cutting cables and got caught on some razor wire it is whose fault precisely? His? The wire's ? Or perhaps it I the people committing or attempting to commit a criminl act?

Then do something about this Suthep and his gang of Hooligans.

The police did nothing about Jatuporn, Nattawut and their bunch of hooligans three years ago, why do you expect anything different today?

The electricity is still functioning at the Police Hospital.

Thaksin Chalerm and Cops are like the three amigo's
