krisb
I asked my wife, she says you can't spend them, but you can swap them at a bank. The 100 baht note is a replica of old old money. King number 5 with the current king. She says keep them and they go up in value, eventually. They look nice though, how much did you pay for them if you don't mind me asking? Popular Post Suradit69
The 100 baht commemorative note with our King and King Chulalongkorn pictured on it was issued in 2002. Somchai Saeng-Ngern's Thai Banknotes Catalogue no. CB 13. In uncirculated condition it has a catalogue value of Baht 120-130. In reality it's probably not much more than the face value of Baht 100. No indication in the catalogue that it's been withdrawn, so it may still be legal tender, but doubt many shops would accept it except as a collectible item. The 20 baht commemorative coins are a part of a series. If you had the whole set it might be of interest to a collector, but the individual coins are not valuable. They're listed here: http://colnect.com/en/coins/list/series/82457-Commemorative_coins_-_20_Baht/country/2462-Thailand As you can see (click picture below), the FAO commemorative was issued in 1995 with 800.000 copies made. Someone on eBay is trying to sell a lot of 10 of them] banknotes for $49. He may be optimistic, although it shows that's he's sold 6 sets so far. see last photo.
