Visa for Cambodian Girls

Anyone knows how much it will be cost a marriage visa and how long for obtained it,one time all the papers are giving to the Emabssy.Thank's for all your reply.

Marriage visa for who for where??

for a Barang to marry a Cambodian and live in Cambodia? there is no marriage visa just get an Ordianary visa, ( business) visa when u enter an extend it for a year at a time for around $280/year

I dont really understand what you mean by marriage visa for cambodia girl without knowing for where?

if ur over 50 can not be done

will need a letter from district police saying he isn't married. You will need a letter saying the same from your country and also that you don't have a criminal record. Your forms need to be notarized. Then you will go to Ministry of Foreign Affairs and pay about $250 and do some paperwork. Then you will go to Ministry of Interior and pay about $300 and do more paperwork and an interview. Negotiate the prices and don't expect a receipt. Took us several months to get the actual marriage certificate.

You will need to present the following to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs;

1. Certificate of non-impediment/single status/divorce certificate (if applicable)/ex-spouses death certificate (if applicable)
2. Criminal record check
3. Passport with valid E type (Ordinary MEEV) visa, minimum 6 months validity
4. Letter of employment/proof of salary minimum $2500USD p/m (Male only)
5. Letter from Embassy - permission to marry
6. Pre-nuptial Medical certificate from Calmette Hospital (no older than 3 months)

The MoFA will tell you to have all these documents notarised by your Embassy, but the British Embassy will tell you this is no longer required as there is an agreement between them.

Khmer partner will need to present;

1. Certificate of celibacy (single status) from Sangkat
2. National ID card
3. Birth Certificate
4. Family Book
6. Pre-nuptial Medical certificate from Calmette Hospital (no older than 3 months)

Once the MoFA processes the documents which takes about 1-2 weeks, you will be issued a letter and invoice, and an appointment will be set up with the Ministry of Interior. You will both be interviewed by someone in the MoI, and if they are satisfied it will take approximately another 2 months for them to issue an authorisation to marry letter, which you will then need to submit to your partners Sangkat, who will then issue you with your marriage certificate.

There is no requirement for a wedding ceremony in order to be issued a marriage certificate.

These laws were bought in by the Cambodian goverment to protect older guys from getting ripped off by sexy young girls who conned old age pensioners into marriage. Now if only other goverments looked after their citizens that much, their countries would be a better place to live in.

Its a human rights issue as well, an NO GOVERMENT should be alowed to say who can marry who or at what age.

To "elude" the marriage law, all you have to do is take your Cambodian bride-to-be to Thailand and marry her there instead. You can then start the ball rolling on taking the love of your wallet back home immediately, and unless you can meet all the strict criteria your home nation requires for this, you can expect to be turned down after waiting several months to hear from your embassy...

You don't need to. You go to a notary and swear that she's single - that's the requirement of Thai law; the Cambodian embassy will happily certify this. You don't need her to get an authorization on a letter from a village headman - that's a requirement of Khmer law.

• First go to your embassy within Thailand and sign an affidavit claiming your non-married status in your home country and have it notarized by your local embassy representative. Notarization is usually around $30 USD--it depends on the country.

  Have the affidavit translated into the Thai language so that it's recognized by the Thai government. Translation work fees vary. It's best to shop around.

  Mail or bring the original and translated affidavit to the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs to have it verified. Cost to verify the affidavit is around $15 USD.

  Bring the affidavit signed by the Ministry to any local amphur, or local government office. For a small fee they will recognize the marriage and give you a very nice certificate that is definitely worth framing!

Step 1; The Cambodian embassy in Bangkok will NOT do this ( i asked and tried) and we were told go back to Cambodia to get it done

As long as she has money in the bank, a job to which she will return, owns some property wherever she's living now... no problem. Otherwise, you have more chance of getting a winning Euromillions ticket for her.

That's a shame really, all we want is to go for a holiday, we have lived together for 4yrs, been all over SE asia. Has money in the bank, has a job to return to....

We will apply anyway, for next spring, maybe go to Armenia instead, VOA.!!

If she has money in the bank, a job to come back to, and a passport that shows multiple trips abroad with return to Cambodia, she may well succeed in getting a visa. Won't know until you try.
