Not a "good" film by any stretch of the imagination, but the people were nice, and there's actually quite a few hollywood features shot in Chiang Mai. Sniper 3 was shot in and around here about the same time as well. Steven Segal also was shooting something recently. Lots of production work going on in Thailand. Beautiful scenery, cheap prices, and most importantly highly-skilled and talented local crews and artists. Seriously, the Thai crews are world class, camera teams, stunt performers, make-up, and art department all fantastic. It's unfortunate that they hardly ever get a big enough budget to really shine. Even this small direct to cable movie had a bigger budget than most of the theatrical release films in Thailand. BTW: They got that shot by building a ruined chedi in the empty lot across from the porn-ping hotel. It's actually all fiber-glass and plywood, but it sure looks real doesn't it? jaiyenjohn Posted June 1, 2006 Share Posted June 1, 2006 The same team that put together vampires, a chiang mai company called Living Films, also finished Mysterious Island, that was shot down in Krabi. It had Patrick Stewart, Kyle McLaughlin, and Vinnie Jones in it. You probably won't recognize Thailand in it though. Also the same company did blackbeard, another pirate movie, shot in Surat Thani. They took over a small beach and created an entire carribbean village. Including dock, clocktower, streets of shops etc. It was hilarious seeing the thai extras in blackface to portray africans, and they shipped a bunch of tourists over from samui for the european extras. I also run a small production company here in Chiang Mai, called Studio Lanna http://www.studiolanna.org. I don't think Mr.Segal shoots anything anymore unless its in Thailand! The Taylor I used to use in BK to make me suits in the days I had a need for them had his walls plastered with pictures of him and SS..Apparanly he has a dozen or so suits made every time he comes over (Tight Ass-u would think he could afford Armani..not Louis ) I think at that time he was shooting "The Belly Of The Beast" Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

On my visa ru to Mae Sai yeasterday I brought a box collection of 22 Steven Segal movies most recent one is In To The Sun and got a great price 700bht great discs and great package apart from the title of the box set said.
