The idea is you predict the scores from the group matches , and then from the knockout stages, QF.SF and final. The rules are fairly simple, its a bit of fun. Would any of you experts like to have a similar competition here? If so , I am happy to run the thing, I can send out the xl format entry form , rules etc,. We need at least 10 people to make it interesting. So if you fancy yourself as a pundit, reply on this thread and we'll see hopw good you really are. I will send another out for the knockout stages, as and when the teams qualify. Heres the rules , apologies if they seem vague , but it works. WORLD CUP Competition Rules POINTS SCORING: The points scoring will be as follows 1 point for each correct score 2 points for correct result 2 points for correct scores and result. 1point bonus for each goal scored in an absolute correct prediction (Sorry no extra for a correct 0-0) So a total of 6 points are available plus bonus point per goal. SO IF A MATCH RESULT WAS 3-1. If you predicted 3-0. This would score 1 point for the 3 prediction and 2 points for the result thus you score 3 points. If you predicted 1-1. This would score 1 point for the 1 prediction and no other points thus you score 1 point. If you predicted 3-1. This would score 1 point for the 3 prediction and 1 point for the 1 prediction 2 points for correct result and a further 2 points for correct score thus you score a maximum 6 points. Plus 4 bonus points for each goal scored for a completely correct prediction giving a Total of 10 points. The prediction sheet: There is only one sheet it contains all games known at the start plus how the draw will place teams for the 2nd round onwards, I will update and send again when known, where practical. Take a good look at each pool and the date on the left when the games are played, make sure you get your prediction in no later than this day and before kick off. You can fill in the whole sheet in one go if you want. How you make your entries is upto you as long as they are in before kick off. At the bottom of each pool is a box for your prediction for total goals in the pool, this must be entered at the same time as first pool matches. One final point to remember, if your predictions are late they will not be entered, if you forget to make an entry there will\be no default predictions. No predictions = No points NOTE: All predictions are based on 90mins. Extra time, golden goals, penalties etc. do not count. I'm a Yank, so I'm at a disadvantage, but I follow some relatives in the leagues in the UK, and half of WETV is reruns of RealMadrid and obscure Italian teams, so I'll give it a go.
