Jai Dee
A repository of ancient pottery unearthed in Chiang Mai An underground repository of ancient pottery aged around 500 years old has been unearthed at the Chiang Mai kindergarten. The buried treasures, among them jars, pots and kettles, were found while workers were digging a hole at the school for the construction of a multi-purpose building yesterday. Chinnawut Wilayalai (ชินวุฒิ วิลยาลัย), an archaeologist, said those pieces of pottery should be built around 500 years ago. Mr. Chinnawut said the repository could belong to a stupa formerly located in an area which is now the Chiang Mai kindergarten. The digging has been suspended pending further inspection by the Fine Arts Department.
