Woman shot as two rival gangs collide in Jomtien

shot-11.jpg
PATTAYA:--In the early hours of Sunday a 20 year old woman was shot in the hip as she rode as passenger on her boyfriend’s motorbike which was being chased by an 8-man gang, one of which was shooting in the direction of the victim.

Khun Ganjana was rushed to Banglamung Hospital with her uninjured Boyfriend Khun Yutana aged 26. He told Police that he was part of an 8-person, 4-motorbike gang who were in the process of escorting their friend back to his home in Soi Chayapreuk in Jomtien. As they passed the Thai Namtip Company on the Sukhumvit Road they encountered a group of 20 men on motorbikes who began to follow the smaller group.
One of the chasing gang members shot in the direction of the smaller group 4 to 5 times and one of the bullets struck Khun Ganjana.

Just goes to show that there is very little fear among the public regarding carrying (and using) guns despite the crackdown.

Maybe 20 year mandatory prison sentences will wake them up.

Why 20 years? DEATH for carrying a gun or offensive weapon! Thailand needs cleaning up, and must rid itself of all the scum. Political parties are scared to enact severe penalties....Let the Junta do it!"

I'd like the definition of "escorting".

This may be the crux of the attack.

How will the Police get to the bottom of this ?

Pillion passenger of 1 of the 8 man gang gets shot by a stray bullet possibly from his own 8 man gang ?

Was the bullet intended for 1 of the 20 man gang ?

Was there an infiltrator in the 8 man gang ?

The possibilities here are endless.

The manure has piled up so big that the barn is full of manure, and the manure has rotted out the beams and main structure of the barn. Hence, getting rid of the manure will simply cause the barn to collapse in upon itself.

What a load of manure ! clap2.gif

Did read the other day Thailand has 230,000 Police, twice as many as UK and they can not or will not locate and and eliminate the gangs. Hell, they are every where even in the Universities and High Schools.

Should be next target after/along with Flushing the Corruption Toilet.

Now if I could just go to a bar the have a drink and listen to the band with out having some ZZZXXX come in and sit down next to me a light-up right in front of the No-Smoking Sign. The honorable chaps walk out side and smoke.

Jomtien use to be the peaceful place to live just South of Pattaya...was just a matter of time before the thugs moved South to stake out new territory...

I guess Hua Hin is the only safe place left in Thailand...nothing ever happens there...at least for the moment...

When will the Army sort out Pattaya? Except for the stopping of motorcycles on some pretense, law and order seems to be sadly lacking.

When you live a regular life in Pattaya you really don't see many problems.

If I were to get out of bed and cruise around at 4am on my bike I think I could spot some though.

Tourists get assaulted walking back to their hotels at late times through quiet areas and the thugs are cruising looking for victims.

The issue is you rarely see police at these times.

Totally agree. I've lived here for nine years and never felt threatened but I am always home before 1am.

Police go to bed just as the villains emerge.

One of the challenges is the number of officers on posting to "inactive posts" rather than on the unemployment lines or filling the jails.
