Prajin not certain whether Yingluck can leave kingdom

BANGKOK: -- Deputy junta chief ACM Prajin Juntong said Friday that he is now not certain whether former prime minister Yingluck Shinawatra can leave the kingdom after the anti-graft agency decided to charge her in court.

He said the National Council for Peace and Order still retained its approval for Yingluck to leave the kingdom but the final decision will depend on the court's decision now that she is facing a criminal charge related to the rice-pledging scheme.

Let her go but with all her assets frozen and in bond. A cool 200 000 should cover her expenses, that's all she needs.

A coif, nails, whitening cream, and most of the Bt.200k would be gone.

Note; a million baht in 1,000 baht notes (Thailand's largest denomination) makes a cube; 6" x 5" x 4"

One can easily fit 1.5M Baht in a laptop case, with laptop and charger inside.... I know... I've done it.

NCPO deputy says Yingluck’s travel permission uncertain

yingluck-10-wpcf_728x413.jpg

BANGKOK: -- The deputy head of National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) says he is uncertain if the former prime minister will be allowed to leave the country after she was ruled guilty in the controversial rice-pledging scheme by the graft buster.

Air Chief Marshal Prajin Juntong, deputy head of the NCPO, made the statement after he was asked for comment on the overseas travel sought by ex-Premier Yingluck Shinawatra after the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) ruled she was guilty of malfeasance in office and power abuses that incurred huge 500 billion baht damages to the country in the rice scheme.

He made clear that the NCPO would not interfere in the judicial affairs as long as those who seek overseas travels abiding by the conditions laid down by the NCPO.

He said the NCPO will monitor their movements to make sure they follow the guidelines set which intends to create unity and reconciliation.

When pressed by a question of whether the NCPO will still stick to its permission for Ms Yingluck to go abroad, ACM Prajin said he was uncertain and would like to double check for more information.

He said so far he learned of the permission from an interview given to the media by a spokesman Col Winthai Suwari who has outlined many conditions for travels.

Asked whether the NCPO will coordinate with the NACC or the Office of the Attorney-General on the case, ACM Prajin reiterated that the NCPO will not interfere in their affairs.

However, he maintained that if the justice system should come out with any condition, it has to be heeded.
He said he still has no idea what action the Office of the Attorney General will take from now.

He said the NCPO will still keep to its permission unless a travel ban is issued by the court.

He said each deputy head of the NCPO is tasked with different area of work and he is not in charge of legal affairs so he is uncertain what the legal affairs will say.

I thought it was against Thai law to take more than 50,000 baht out of the country on a trip.

Can't stop a diamond-encrusted, solid platinum, gold-plated MasterCard blocking her pursuits... especially with the surname Shinawatra rubied within it....

I severely doubt they will have brought charges against her before Sunday - today is Friday - as another commentator mentioned above she hasnt been charged by the criminal side yet and hardly going to happen over a weekend - these guys have already taken a half day today for sure.

Maybe time for some lessons, when she might (maybe) just understand how the un-paid rice farmers / families got on while she sat round and played Nero.

Unless you're a Shinawatra or a close relative - however, might be a little different now the General is overseeing things.

It is, but if you read the rules closely this rule is not applicable if said cash is in a lunchbox or a duffel bag bound for Hong Kong thumbsup.gif

Let the lady abscond. Whatever European cities host her, will see their revenue income tick up.

Q: Will she leave like Thaksin's Pojaman did? A short while after the coup which ousted Thaksin, she went through the airport (un-searched, of course) with over 30 v. large suitcases stuffed with ..... take a guess.

Note; a million baht in 1,000 baht notes (Thailand's largest denomination) makes a cube; 6" x 5" x 4"

Why would she take Baht to Europe? Euros are far more compact for that sort of transfer. The E500 is a much better note to carry. E500 is about 21KTHB so about 48 notes for 1million THB.

That's the law for people like you and me. There are a whole other set of conditions for Thai VIPs. With a few rectangular pieces of plastic and several passports (given to her by friendly little countries), she can live high on the hog. Meanwhile, you can bet Thaksin is mapping out plans to appoint his other sister (or his son) as next Thai PM.
