Officers will now locate him and bring him in for questioning. It is not yet clear whether this was an illegal logging operation or whether the encroachers had been clearing the forest around the house to create a personal hilltop getaway for someone.Source: http://www.thephuketnews.com/phuket-hilltop-encroachers-flee-as-officers-close-in-47400.php-- Phuket News 2014-07-

Lusty Loser 1
that house looks to have been there for 50 years judging by the mould on the boards and the faded colour, so calling them encroachers is a little inaccurate no?

That's not mould. They just started painting the place, getting it ready for a high end tourist, before they had to flee. Edited July 18, 2014 by NamKangMan
steelepulse 5,831
There are actually quite a number of shacks above 80 metres all over the island, most without electricity and probably farmers shacks. They do have some of the best views of all Phuket residents. These guys appear to be illegal loggers. I wonder if they had a permit for the chain saw?
