Work Permit and multiple entries

Recommended Posts

Hi

Currently I'm studying and volunteering on occasion teaching in a public school in Thailand on a multi entry non O visa.

My visa expires next year.

The school has hinted they would like me to work part time (about 70%) next year for two terms. I am interested in visiting countries bordering Thailand during that time. My question is would acquiring a work permit restrict me from re-entering Thailand regularly as I explore nearby countries? Furthermore should/would my current visa be extended, and if so, does the multi entry status continue as well? Is the non O visa OK to extend coupled with a work permit, or would I be required to get a non B?

Thx.

The work permit has nothing to do with leaving and re-entering the country. The would depend upon your visa or extension of stay.

If you get a job and a work permit you can apply for an extension of stay for teaching during the last 30 days of any of the 90 day entries you get from your visa. You should not need to go out for a non-b visa.

Once you have the extension of stay will need to get a re-entry permit if you want to travel. A single re-entry permit costs 1000 baht and a multiple is 3800 baht

Ahh Thx Ubonjoe..so I would ask for a re-entry permit.

At what point can I request the re-entry permit? Is it granted easily?

Also do they charge a fee for an extension of stay?

As soon as you have the extension of stay you can apply for the re-entry permit. Just fill out the application pay the fee and you will have it. It is that easy.

The fee for all extensions is 1900 baht.
