I send all my friends and customers to this beach,

Suan Son Beach
A great alternative to Hua Hin main beach

Suan Son Beach has now become a weekend getaway for Thai families as well as the top choice on the place to visit list of the foreigners who come to spend their leisure here in Hua Hin

Suan Son Pradipaht or Sea Pine Tree Garden is located in a military camp about 9km south of Hua Hin. This beach has long been accepted as one of the most popular beaches in Hua Hin. Belonging to the Army Welfare office, the beach is open from around 5.30 am until midnight.

How to go
Suan Son Beach is located within easy reach. It is at Km. 241 on Petchkasem Rd. only 9km from the centre of Hua Hin. You can take Tuk-Tuk, Songtaew, motorbike or your own vehicle. There is a low entrance fee of 10 baht for motorbikes, 20 baht for cars and 40-80 baht for buses (depending on the size). Go get refreshed at this famous beach, relax and enjoy the view of this beautiful beachside area. It can be assured that it is the best way to spend any of your free days.
A tranquil and relaxing place to visit
This amazing beach in Hua Hin gives you a glimpse of genuine Thai beach life. It is one of the places you might want to consider, when escaping from the commercial tourism. Suan Son Beach was officially opened to the public as a tourist destination at the end of 2001.

The beach is very good for swimming and other beach activities, with fewer rocks than there are at Hua Hin main beach. The remarkable feature of this beach, as the name suggests, is the Sea Pine trees (Son) that grow in rows giving an orderly look.

These Pine trees provide adequate shade for one to sit and relax while admiring the beauty of nature, cool sea breeze touching ones face calmly. The vast area of Suan Son Beach makes it possible for various kinds of group activities such as football, which always is an almost permanent feature of this beach. Taking a walk on the white powdery sand along this beach is another almost certain thing one would to coming to this beach in Hua Hin.
Get a comfortable stay here
Another reason why people keep coming to this Suan Son Beach is because of the variety of accommodation that is available here. Hotels and bungalows with required facilities in this delightful atmosphere is the ideal place to spend your time. You have a wide range of types and price of the room you want to stay in. The price of hotel rooms ranges between 1,600 baht to 7,000 baht per night for general people. As for bungalows, the price ranges from 1,800 baht to 3,400 baht. Get full rest in these well-maintained accommodations at Suan Son Beach and rejuvenate yourself, receive the fresh and cheerful feeling nature will provide. Though Suan Son Beach is billed as one of the most popular beaches in Hua Hin where people prefer to pay a visit and spend their time, it retains its beauty and freshness perfectly well.
Feel free to enjoy yourself in a safe place
One major advantage of this place is the soldiers belonging to the military camp who take care of the place, so the tourists and the guests who stay in the area will feel safe. You may even take a tour around this spacious camp to get a better idea and feel of the place. The well-laid garden is another attractive element here. Various restaurants serve a wide variety of food at reasonable prices. Be happy and relaxed to the full extent, on the sandy beach that virtually connects to Khao Tao which is some 3 kilometers to the south. The sparkling sea in the front, Khao Tao on your right, Khao Takiab on your left is one of the rare views you can have only here

This has been well known for those of us who have been here for a long time BUT you really need a car to get about in, and Hua Hin taxis and vans are great rip-off merchants, same as the beach hawkers.

last time I was there i was sitting in a beach chair under an umbrella enjoying lunch when I horse went by and crapped in front of me. Before I could moved a wave crashed on the crap and carried it up to all that were sitting there and leaving everyone with green smelly legs.

I took a photo of the culprit and the number on his vest. Then reported it to the officer there.

Next thing the same beach horse vendor rode back smugly with a different vest number on.

What can I say - shyte happens eh?

Clean it up I say.

on another forum, there's one that claims that there are parasols for 150 meters towards the Centara and also to Takiab. And between the two, there is no nothing.
Of anything.
He wants to make it interesting, because there has facilities all along the beach, even if they are not numerous in some places.
But they exist.

It is time for the junta put in the order.beatdeadhorse.gif

Nothing yet on Saphan Pla seafood restaurants that have encroached on the beach north of the rocks near the Hilton. They were ordered to dismantle their illegal structures in the early 2000s but must have come to an "amicable" settlement. Maybe the will get away with it again as they generate a lot of income and employ a lot of people. On the other hand someone might take the view there are an eyesore and causing pollution too close to the palace to be allowed to fester for some more decades. The owners must have recovered their original investments in the corrugated iron structures by now.

Certainly double standards if illegal restaurants on the beach to the south of the rocks are demolished, while those the north are considered "too big to fail".

So the govenor will try to talk to the vendors again......softly softly is the way here.....don't want the grubby vendors upset.......

Well...maybe they can stay a little longer...(for a price!).....we'll see.

If this was done as has been in Phuket....these grubs would now be gone............and they should be made to take the rats they bred, with them!!

I'm pretty sure these vendors are not 'just encroaching' using the land for free - who's making money from this ?

Somewhere there will be various corrupt officials / individuals who've been getting rich renting this land out to the vendors for many years.

Who do these vendors pay their rent to ?

Are they (the landlords) being investigated, having all of their assets frozen, seized, etc ? This is what should happen if they want to remove the corruption completely.

The Or Bot Tors have been getting wealthy off of the beaches in Phuket. I assume it's the same in Hua Hin. I don't know if the Generals will go after them or not. They did go after a few of the worst ones. I'd love to see them all hang. We'll see.

The very people whose job it was to protect the beaches, were selling it off...because they could. All the politicians were getting payed off to allow it to continue.

When I hear  whining about a "balanced approach" to the beaches, it's laughable. There can never be a workable balanced approach. Thais have no concept of balance. Build anything, anywhere, no thoughts to zoning or pollution. Pay the bribes and build it. Beaches, national forests doesn't matter.

The only thing that should be on the King's beach is sand. There is new sheriff in town, finally. Thank Buddha, it is a miracle.

I've only been to Hua Hin once. Yes, the beach was not very pleasant, but what really struck me about the beach in Hua Hin is that you have to walk so far to get to the beach even though I was in a guest house on the beach. The guest house I was in was on the beach but not the part where everybody is talking about.  They had a back porch like structure that was built over the beach.  There was no access to this part of the beach as all the resorts had similar type of structures.  Surely these hotels and guesthouses are encroaching far worse than the vendors.

I'm not saying don't clean up the vendors on the beach, I'm just saying dole out the same type of justice to the encroachers who are not just making a part of the beach undesirable, but have actually taken the beach away from everyone.

I don't understand why everyone is talking about south of the Hilton, but nobody is talking about north of the Hilton.

Hua Hin beach vendors told to move out on August 18 or else

8-14-2014-10-06-06-PM-wpcf_728x413.jpg

HUA HIN: -- Defiant vendors on Hua Hin beaches were given until August 18 to voluntarily move out or they will be evicted.

The tough-line policy to reclaim the beaches from encroachers was announced to a group of 22 food vendors who have set up stalls on the beaches at a meeting Thursday with Hua Hin district officer Mr Pornchai Thomkrachang, the mayor Mr Nopporn Wutthikul Pol Maj Damrongsak Thong-ngarmtrakul, the deputy commander of Prachuab Khiri Khan provincial police and representatives from the military.

Mr Porn told the defiant food vendors that the authorities had no intention to force them out of their business but merely wanted to set a new order and to restore the beaches to their natural state.

He assured them that once their illegally-built stalls were demolished a designated space would be made available to be shared out among the vendors so that they could carry on with their trade.

He also told the beach vendors not to overcharge their clients but to keep their food prices at reasonable level.

Send in the military and remove them by force.  The people of Thailand apparently wanted the Military in charge so now stop crying and obey your leaders.

That sounds a bit sour & cynical, Chooka.  Did you get out of bed on the wrong side this morning?

Nah not sour & cynical actually laughing my guts out.  Thailand has got what the wanted now stop complaining and obey your rulers.

Remove those gready bastards from government property and give back the beach to tbe people and the tourist. This has gove too far in my opinion. I can go to one of the finest restaurant in town sit nicely and quiet and not pay 1800 THB for four dishes.
Much to gready and on the adge of being a criminal in my opinion, stealing the money from the turists, Thai and Farangs.

Ive been going to hua hin for years now, when I first started going to the beach I would go down the small soi in between Hilton and Centara,it was always dirty, broken glass everywhere, unhealthy dogs, smelly horses with owners who wouldn't always pick up the horse crap, they were blocking the entrance to the beach as well, the stall vendors to the left on the beach never pick up glass.plastic bags and bottles it was disgusting you couldn't swim there at all.The last 4 years I have stayed in a beach front condo across the road from market village, the vendors are cleaner, the beach is better but they still dont seem to care about beach cleanliness, everymorning I walk along the beach and pick up broken glass for my own safety,I totally support the Hua Hin authorities for making these changes,,,if the vendors respected the beach, and not been greedy  they would probably have been okay. The other main cause of all the rubbish is the Thais who come to the beach for the day, they eat and drink then just leave all the trash there eventually washing into the sea and resulting in more broken glass and plastic floating around the ocean, beach inspectors are needed to fine those who dont remove their rubbish.

Vendors have more balls than sense when the NCPO has said that the beaches must be cleaned up and returned to the people.

I know it must be "inconvenient" for the vendors and their supporters who have been thumbing their noses at all and sundry for years. Well, now it it tough s**t!
