SATTAHIP:--Authorities rescued 18 protected birds recovered during drug raids in Sattahip.

District Chief Phawat Lertmukda and officers from the Sattahip Command Centre for Drug Elimination found 18 red-whiskered bulbuls, a protected species in Thailand, during the Aug. 4 operation.

They were turned over to the Banglamung Wildlife Breeding Station in Khao Chi On for nurturing before being returned to the wild.
