"Our pool technology and waste water system are from Hungary" Is Hungary some kind of technical country of excellence or something? It certainly wasn't when I was last there! I like the way it's used a selling point , "powered by Hungarian technology" wooo-hoooo! Let's form an orderly queue and get down there!

I would assume they have already managed to include mixer to balance hot and cold water, unlike some other country which is still using separate tabs for hot and cold water.. whistling.gif

Like Pattaya, cannot understand why you need a waterpark when you located near the ocean?

Could see the value of one in Bangkok.

Well it is the sea actually, but many people won't go into it, it isn't clean.

Water parks are great fun for tourists, tube slides and all that, and hopefully safer than jet-skis and banana boats.

This was also an idea that Tom McNamara ,RiP , from Baan Rim Paa , had worked on with the owners of the Pirates Cove Miniature Golf Course back in the 90s ! I remember seeing plans and drawings of rides for the park. I forget why it never happened.

There was an old saying about Phuket back then: How to make a Million $ in Phuket , come with 2 !

I wish the Hungarians much good luck , I still believe only Duty Free status and Legalized Gambling may be the only way to save Phuket from more eyesores!

The kids go to the water park and Mom & Dad go to the Casino to lose the kids College fund !

I remember Tom being all enthusiastic about it too but just fizzled out for no apparent reason.

You would be amazed if you know how many things the hungarians figured out but most of it they did outside of the country because the unfortunate circumstances...

just to name a few:

Helicopter, Vitamin-C, Water turbine, Soda, Dynamo, Color television, Telephone exchange, Automatic exposure camera, Elevator, etc...

And there I was believing that Vitamin_C was a naturally occurring vitamin - amazing how the Hungarians got it into oranges!

And you are what? According to your avatar, an anglo-saxon Englishman... superior indeed - superior enough to look down on on any country who won't engage in enslaving the world. You should be ashamed of yourself.

And you deduced all this because I have a Union Jack as my avatar as opposed to a fictitious character from a children's television series? Are you so dimwitted that you do not know the origin on of my name? I don't feel the need to hide behind a "handle". I'd be interested to know when Wales was enslaving the World though. Go back to your local 7/11 and grab yourself another beer Chang my hippy friend

I believe the many posts showing how many hungarian inventions there are expose your superficiality and lack of brain mass in perfect detail. You have made a fool of yourself on TV for everyone to see. Have a cheap drink on that. Nothing more to add to this.

Really? Like how they invented Vitamin C? (it was actually found by a Hungarian though) Or how they invented water turbines? (which date back to Roman times) Or the helicopter? (leonardo Da Vinci's design - he wasn't Hungarian anyway - was preceded by the original which came from China) some person was saying how the Colour TV was invented by a Hungarian! When anybody who went to school knows who invented it,! Although a Hungarian did invent the first telephone exchange. The point I was making to begin is that the water park was being advertised as being something special, because the water technology comes from Hungary. So what? I'd love to have a cheap drink on that but but 1. You're full of sh*t and nothing you have said has any 'meat' to it, and 2 I would rather stick needles in my eyes and than have a drink with, or for, a numpty like you. (and I only have a beer when I'm at the beach and there is no beach nearby) But I do enjoy it when people like you say things like "I believe the many posts showing how many hungarian inventions there are expose your superficiality and lack of brain mass in perfect detail." You don't have the brains nor intelligence to find any inventions yourself that have been made by Hungarians, the Rubiks cube (this is said to be Hungary's greatest invention but I've no idea why or what it's applications are other than a game), underwear, leavened bread, horse stirrups, the first aluminium airship and many more. You rely on the brains of others and you don't even check to see if they're correct!!

Aparently the one called Cartoon Network Amazonein, Bang Saray near Pattaya, is amazing and I beleive the technology there is all from Turkey, so whats wrong with countries other than the big 4 or 5 technology countries doing advanced stuff?

What makes you believe the technology is from Turkey for his park which is a Cartoon Network park affiliated with Turner Broadcasting if I recall?

Lots of the rides are all from Polin company who are based in Turkey, you can google this if you dont beleive me.

Completely different concept. You can't ride a loopy slidey thing into the sea, can you? It's a theme park, not a swimming pool.

I can appreciate that. Let's wait and see what the prices are to see if others can appreciate it or will it become a white elephant that uses up a bunch of resources.

Some will call it a tourist attraction I guess...

Water parks like this are a very well proven business in a lot of different countries and you can bet that the owners have already researched the pricing and found the potential profit very sweet. Otherwise, they wouldn't be doing this very expensive project.
