canuckamuck
This may help some people. 16 ounces = one pound fourteen pounds =one stone one hundred and twelve pounds= one hunredweight. Twenty hundredweights =one ton. 2240 Pounds = one ton We had to learn these multiplications when I were at school. Money, 4 farthings =one penny 2 halfpennies = one penny 12 pennies = one shilling 2 shillings = one florin. 5 shillings = one crown. twenty shillings = one pound ( currency) One guinea = twenty one shillings. Metric is much is much more simple. Too many pints is the reason the imperial system was developed in this fashion, Perhaps they chose the arbitrary measures during a dart match and mixed up the scoreboard with the data. Dutchbike
I do the occasional fishing and even caught in a fishing park it's still an archievement these big carps are not easy to catch, even in such a pond.Landing such a monster is a archievment and need proper fishing skils. Congrats to this guy. The reason many fishers go to these fishing park is that fishing in the "wild" is not rewarding anymore, since all and I mean ALL the fish the locals catch is eaten so there's not much left in the wild. JoePai
On the other hand why do Europeans (and the vast majority of the rest of the world) still use Imperial units in many measurements - e.g. railway track is always "Standard" gauge
