Dethroned beauty queen absconds with expensive crown, breast implants

Associated Press | Myanmar | Updated: Aug 29 2014, 13:42 IST

The first Myanmar national to win an international pageant has been stripped of her title for being rude and dishonest, and has allegedly run off with the expensive crown and breast implants.

Her picture was blacked out on the organization's website and replaced with the word ''dethroned''.

Myanmar, which only recently emerged from a half-century of military rule, started participating in international beauty pageants again in 2012.

Two years later, May Myat Noe was crowned Miss Asia Pacific World.

David Kim, director of media for the Seoul-based pageant, said Friday the 18-year-old was informed of the decision to retract the title earlier this week.

He says she has since absconded with the $100,000 bejeweled tiara and $10,000 breast implants, paid for by the pageant's sponsors.

Reports also suggest Noe refused to undergo breast augmentation surgery, as per Miss Asia Pacific World organisers' wishes. Kim adds, "We thought she should be more beautiful... so we sent her to the hospital to operate on her breasts." Rediculous. How about May insists David goes to have d*ck modifications. She should keep the crown and sell the gems for profit to compensate for the imposition. She won it as she was - no need to fiddle with success. David should make a new crown as this one is gone for good (I hope). May, you should cash it babe without feeling any guilt! The nerve of that guy!

Toppled! Model May Myat Noe loses crown amid theft claims

Miss Asia Pacific World, Myanmar’s May Myat Noe, has fallen down and broken her crown – or at least it has gone missing. The sponsoring agency of the beauty pageant announced on August 27 that her brief reign was over, amid accusations she absconded from South Korea without returning her tiara – valued at US$100,000 – and after the organisation said it had paid $10,000 for her to have breast implants.

The pageant organisers, the Miss Asia Pacific World organisation, ordered her home from Seoul, where she had gone with her mother to record songs with Mabi Dolls, a K-Pop girl band. May Myat Noe was to have received training for a musical career during a proposed three-month stay there.

Questions over the South Korean pageant that dethroned Miss Myanmar

Lawrence Choi, president of the Supertalent of the World Incorporation that holds Miss Asia Pacific World contest, stated that Myanmar Miss May Myat Noe was dethroned three months after her win for faking her age to enter the contest.

The organizers claimed the 18-year-old had had had 10,000 USD a breast enhancement surgery before disappearing with the tiara, worth at least 100,000 USD.

Despite of the accusations from the organizers, Ms May has not made any response or explanation yet.

Questions are also raised about the integrity of the organization, founded four years ago.

Dethroned Myanmar Beauty Queen Blasts Pageant Boss
YANGON, Myanmar — Sep 2, 2014, 2:08 AM ET

A dethroned beauty queen from Myanmar says she won't return her $100,000 crown until the pageant's organizers apologize for calling her a liar and a thief.

May Myat Noe — the 2014 Miss Asia Pacific World winner — insisted at a press conference Tuesday she had done nothing wrong.

She denied accepting breast implants, as claimed by David Kim, director of media for the South Korea-based pageant. He said the surgery was provided free of charge to help boost her into super-stardom.
