DagonKhan Posted September 10, 2014 Share Posted September 10, 2014 MPT to sell 5 million SIM cards by end of year, with help from KDDI Myanmar Posts and Telecommunications (MPT) said it has signed a 10-year contract with Japanese telecom firm KDDI to upgrade its service to international standards, and that it plans to sell 5 million SIM cards by the end of the year. An official from the state-run mobile operator – which enjoyed a monopoly in the country until last month – said it “had difficulties going it alone in telecommunications sector”.
