There is currently development work taking place for what the locals are referring to as Pattaya 2. Palm treed have been planted around the initial development area. On the same bank of the lake, near to the main road to chong mek, there are about 60 bamboo style eating huts on the water. Anyone know about the plans for development here? One farang said that 2 billion baht had been earmarked by the government.

I have eaten there several times, it has been open (a number of differrent independantly owned establishments) for a few years.

They do seem to building a new road now though, which will make it easier when it is wet, not sure how much development they have in mind.

That's not too far from the proposed " Emerald Triangle" project. A new golf course situated in three countries. Last year we went down the new road that leads there, but gave up when the road suddenly ended 15km's in.

That's the one, but now there is a big concrete road under construction, with parking, and lined by hundreds of newly planted palm trees.
