webfact 78,373
Jumping the shark: Mall-goers horrified as Spadenose leaps from tankBy Coconuts BangkokUBON RATCHATHHANI: -- A small Spadenose shark jumped out of its uncovered aquarium to the horror of a farang who thought it was going to eat his baby yesterday.Despite the horrifying picture of the shark flopping around on the floor and a collapsed baby carriage, no injuries were reported in the incident at Central Ubon Ratchathani. Reports suggest the shark was eventually returned to the aquarium unharmed, after a number of people poked at it.The mall’s public relations blamed the shark jump incident on a child who was seen tapping the aquarium with a toy, scaring the cute little shark.Terrified that it was a scene out of Sharknado, a dad damaged his baby carriage as he desperately snatched his child to safety, just in case it was a very tiny shark attack. The baby wasn't struck by the shark whatsoever, according to the mall’s CCTV footage.Full story: http://bangkok.coconuts.co//2014/12/25/jumping-shark-mall-goers-horrified-spadenose-leaps-tank-- Coconuts Bangkok 2014-12-25

Yup, definitely the fault of those pesky children, they stopped just short of saying it was a foreign child, and for sure no issues with safety measures taken by the mall.

Popular Post siampolee 7,966
Well as it appears that the shark was endangered by a member of the public, albeit a very young member, perhaps it might be a wise move to remove this''attraction'' altogether and return its captive creatures back into their own environment. Oh silly me , no profit motive in that ideas is there.

Or perhaps they just died of boredom or lack of correct water make up, temperature, etc., or wrong feeding. Brings the question does anybody at this center have the appropriate knowledge? Silly question.

"...they stopped just short of saying it was a foreign child..." Fortunately Thai Visa and you were able to emphasize this and project your thoughts onto the mall PR people. A child-like imagination is a marvelous thing at Christmas time and all year 'round for the dedicated Thai basher.
