swissbie
95 grams of cocaine is definitely not a small amount. Kratom is still illegal, but police don't care about it everywhere. Otherwise, the days before newyear is traditionally the time where policemen are looking for en extra income, they have generally lots of obligations and need it for various purposes. Popular Post Neeranam
Lock um up and throw away the key. Scum Bit heavy and heartless - have you never taken drugs? Alcohol? He had minuscule amounts of these drugs - have some compassion - can't know what a Thai jail is like. As for kratom - class 5 says it all. Pathetic of the police when they deal the tings themselves, ruining the life of one foreigner for such a small amount. Do you think the'd arrest and charge a Thai for the same amount? No way.

Oziex1
Small fish are easily caught how about arresting those further up the supply chain, or are they to connected to face Thai Law. Baerboxer
What a joke, obviously didn't have 20k to go home. What they should be doing and the know it, is looking in to how easy it is to get hold of it. It's everywhere, and readily you get asked " Hey brother " from a random Norwegian dude on the street all the time, in facet I can;t even walk down sukhumvit post terminal wiht out been asked if Im looking for something. Why is it so easy... Makes me want to punch police officers in the face. Blatant Corruption is just to over the top. This would directly relate to Koh Tao mafia and strong men right at it's core. Interesting. I've never been approached for anything other than the Thai touts promoting soapies and porn shows, freelancers and the ubiquitous Indians around Asoke with dodgy fake watches. Guess it must be something to with age, appearance demeanor? Had the same experience in a couple of other places too, so must be something like that.

The officers should point at him just to make it clear that he is the perk. And why do they always put the phone among the evidence? Maybe it's evidence. Maybe the phone has the contact numbers of buyers and or sellers, who knows? Why the concern?

Sviss Geez
Dealing? He won't make much with that amount! Seriously, he probably just picked that up for himself or a group of mates going out for the night. What a waste of taxpayer's money. Meanwhile, guys are openly drug dealing in front of the police on Sukhumvit road (the stretch between Nana and Asok). Kratom leaves?? Are you f'ing kidding me? It's a tree that grows on Mother Nature's earth. You can't make a tree illegal. Meanwhile, thousands died yesterday from alcohol poisoning, drink driving and alcohol related violence - but that's a legal substance. What complete idiots we are. Who is making the rules and why are we letting them? "Kratom leaves?? Are you f'ing kidding me? It's a tree that grows on Mother Nature's earth." So opium, heroin and cocaine don't originate in nature? Where did you get the information of the thousands of people in Thailand that died from alcohol poisoning, drink driving and alcohol related violence. I think you're way off there. SteveB2
Hmm. So what do we have here... Into LOS through SVM from Lord knows where via a Nigerian's trade-man’s entrance, then on to 'The Grace hotel' for de-egging, weighing and the initial chop and dance; finally danced on again by everyone who's hands it passed through on the way down to Phuket. That stuff will be mostly toilet cleaner and baby milk by now - local boys don't even have the politeness to dance on it with other pharmaceuticals Mister unlucky should insist they test his gear - in which instance there's a good chance he'll get off on a reduced charge, due to having only 'user' quantities of the real McCoy Edited December 26, 2014 by SteveB2

I think folk like him would be doing stuff like this in his home country, not just here............. If so he would get off with a fine in NZ. Desperates like this try their hand at working, they do the whole timeshare slog and whatever to stay drinking with bargirls but the limited options make them turn to this kind of activity to stay and cling on to paradise. It's cold in NZ you know.

Docno
I was being sarcastic. This is the key element of the definition you provided: "now considered offensive in the US" So, shall it be =African guys= to achieve your political correctness. By the way, even when, -colored- shall be now also, sound offensive in the USA, the law enforcement there, shoots African Americans as if they where still in the "N-word" times. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nigger#The_N-word_euphemism Ah - PC! The old excuse to entitle one to say whatever one wants and to otherwise shut down discussion. And to show how wrong you are in your assumption about me (i.e., that I was being blindly PC), I disagree with your analysis about what is going on in the US. I don't believe that police officers are gunning for African Americans as many in the black community are suggesting; rather, I believe that the current turmoil is due to some people framing the issue as one of racism when the issue is far more complex (having to do with blacks being proportionally much more involved in violent crime than other groups, media attention, etc.). Not very PC of me, huh?

Who do i contact to get him out of the slammer? He is harming himself by ingesting these toxic substances. If you show up at the police station trying to bail him out will only bring unwanted attention upon yourself. Let him deal with it himself. If he is 41 and retired then he is cashed up, he can pay his own way out.
