ACM Kongsak continues setting Suvarnabhumi city as the 77th province

The Interior Minister, Air Chief Marshal Kongsak Wanthana (คงศักดิ์ วันทนา), is still pushing forward to establish Suvarnabhumi City as the 77th province of Thailand.

ACM Kongsak said that the project will be continued even though the government may change. He said that if the government does not develop the city around the airport, it could cause negative images to the country.

The Ministry of Interior is developing a city plan and it will be presented at the meeting of the House of Representatives so the act for establishing the city would be issued.

He said that if the government does

not

develop the city around the airport, it could cause negative images to the country.

Obvious typo error corrected.

Secondarily, does this mean the nomenclature for Thai Town in Los Angeles will be changed to "78th Province" ?

:o

Do you think that the acting caretaker Interior Minister might have any suggestions, as to what to name this new province, when created ? Perhaps it might be named after the family/group who own so much of the land ?

Taksin-land perhaps, TRT-ville, Corrupt-Snake-Swamp , etcetera. :o

But whatever it is called, it should surely remain un-developed, rather than condemn hundreds of thousands of people to live in shabby moo-bans under the flight-paths, in the name of progress & the greater profit of a few people ?

Which would surely create an even more negative image of Thailand for the arriving travellers. :D
